Mrs. Aruna Jethwani nee Indu Hingorani is the former Principal of St.Mira’s College for Girls ,Pune .Currently associated with several educational institutions in Pune and is actively involved in community work and the Sadhu Vaswani Mission .
Aruna Jethwani is also the chair person of Indian Institute of Sindhology ,she is a freelance writer .She started her journalistic stint with Femina and was its representative in Pune for several years .She has written more than four hundred articles in the National Press .
She also contributes to the Speaking Tree – Times Of India .
She is an award winning author , so far she has published seven books.
Her short stories have been published in many journals .
Her short story ‘Bridge on river Krishna ‘ won Rajaji award as the best short story in 1991.
Her debut novel ‘Another Love, Another Sky ‘ won Authors ‘Guild of India Award in the year 2004 for the best English work by an author member .
She has translated several stories from Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada and poems into English for the Sahitya Academy -Western Region .
She has been felicitated by many organizations :- Sindhu Seva Dal , Leo Club etc…
In addition to being a freelance writer , she is also an artist .Her paintings are based on working women- lamanis and other tribals.
She is married to Arjun Jethwani .Has one daughter Anjali who is married to Kishore Moorjani and is settled in Singapore .
