Sindhis: Ahuja common surname in Sindhis & Punjabis.

Ahuja is a common surname in Sindhis & Punjabis.

Ja means from and Ahu – Ja means from Ahu.

Indus Valley Civilisations had Sindhis to the West & Punjabis to the North.

Since  these two areas are next to each other, incase of a place called AHU existed, than the Western Reigion must have been occupied by Sindhis and the Northern Reigions by Punjabis.

Now the Question is : Did a place called Ahu exist  and where ? What is the current name ?

Some Clues………………

Ahuja = A descendant of Ahu.

Arora = A descendant from Aror, today’s Rohri in Sind.

Ahu = Lord who looks after worldly affairs (Zorostraians), Also in Iranian it means the supreme lord.

Ahu is a river in Madhya Pradesh.

Ahu : a person, a place or a river ?

      Dear Navin,
      Thanks, Punjabi surname origins:
Let us keep the following facts in our mind:
      1. In 711 Ad when Bin Kasem came their main objective was to get most people converted to Islam.
      2. They only-did one thing ie killed those who refused to convert going by this and the kind of
fundamentalistic and fanatic behaviour it is very much possible that the Sindhis who did not convert were
massacared. So there must have been hardly any survivor particularly in the western reigions of Sindh, In Thatta ie
the eastern reigion there was less of a problem and many Hindus must have survived but than the
terrain was not conducive to settlements being dry and arid.(Like a dessert).
3.Ranjit Singhji had conqured Sindh, at that time there were many who moved from Punjab to Sind, to get good jobs etc…
possibly these people were called Punjabi’s denoting the ghotra or the place of domicile.
Hence there is a strong possiblities that Punjabi’s own thier roots to Punjab and not Sindh.

Interesting, i just find out about the fact that ahuja exist in sindhis as well, i am a panjabi arora, my grandparents came from multan and their ancestors were in aror city in sindh border. the whole civilization of arora panjabis is in aror (now called sukkar) where arabs came in 7th century and destroyed everything so aroras came in areas multan/jhang etc.

Now, do sindhis and aroras have any similarity? Basically ahuja, aneja, pahuva, baveja, satija saluja, these Ja ending surnames constitute more then half of arora surnames, and they denote the village one is from. Like khaneja surname people were from village called khan, in the aror city.

I am curious if arora and sindhi share same stock and/or genetics? but i find sindhi people and girls to be very stunning, but arora girls arent as much neat as sindhi girls.

anybody have a clue if theres any similarity in stock? are sindhi people are of suryavanshi descent? arora people are descendent of lord ram’s son lov . and our cousins kukhrains (sethi, sahni, chhaddha etc) people are descendents of ram’s son kush. what s origin of sindhis?
